Congratulations! You’ve designed your product line. Now what? This class investigates the activities involved in taking a fashion line from the runway into your customer’s closets. This class will discuss the principles of branding and marketing and will address those activities that promote and stimulate the sale of fashion goods. As well, you will be introduced to the magnitude of careers available in the fashion industry.

About Gail McInnes

Glasgow-born Gail McInnes has been involved in Toronto’s fashion scene for well-over a decade. The honours graduate of Humber College’s Fashion Arts program offers a rare all-encompassing view of the Canadian fashion landscape having gained a broad range of experience in model and artist management, casting, retail market research, fashion show coordination, event planning, trend forecasting, and fashion reporting. Her extensive network contains some of the industry’s most influential members and she is often sought out for her insider information and discerning advice.

Gail’s inherent charm and expertise has had her called upon for various television appearances, including E! News, CBC's Radio-Canada, The Movie Network, CTV Newsnet, TLC’s Perfect Proposal, Slice Network’s X-Weighted, and MTV Canada. She has been featured in FLARE, ELLE Canada, National Post, Globe & Mail, Toronto Star, Toronto Life, NOW Magazine, and Eye Weekly.

In 2008, Gail was selected as one of Pierre Maraval’s Mille Femmes – a photographic exhibition celebrating Toronto’s most creative and inspiring women. She co-founded The Style Box, the country’s first-ever Canadian designer rental showroom for high-profile personalities in 2009 and was named one of NOW Magazine’s “Fashion Heroes”. Gail launched her branding, publicity and events management company Magnet Creative Management early 2010, working with established and emerging fashion businesses; including LINE Knitwear, Annie Thompson, Polysh Magazine, Breeyn McCarney, Bijouxbead, Magnolia, Starkers by Dianna DiNoble, and SOOS Rocks Jewellery.
